Oooh it's a holiday

Rezeki, rezeki...yesterday we were supposed to brave the rain for Unversal Studio Singapore but we end up spending our Deepavali stretch (since Wed) at KPJ Johor Specialist instead. What can i say..redha je la. USS can wait. It's Umayr, they detected signs of pneumonia.. after shots of drugs, nubes and bottles of 'drips', he's very much improved now. I hope today he's fit enough for the doctors to stamp 'discharge'. Note to self: Positive thinking helps.

When you're married and with kids, there is no such thing as getting 100% relaxed during family vacation. Izza kata kalau duduk pulau? Nanti risau Umayr/Anas lari masuk laut la, masuk bilik tak basuh kaki yang berpasir, lompat-lompat atas katil bilik, menangis nak panjat pokok kelapa la, poo poo masa mandi pool la..running around the restaurant during dinner..no lah.. it is impossible to just shut down to all that. But you could if you've the most 'un-child' kid, say you have 2 year old twins-boys lagi! tapi perangai macam robot. Suruh duduk, duduk.. makan, makaan..tidur, tiduuuur...otak tak creative dan mengharap pada arahan je..in this case, maybe bolehlah relax sikit..say 95%? No.. i don't want my kids to be like that. And i'm not saying that this is the downside of being a family man. Anggaplah macam tengah main game..ni challenge level 3. Muka big boss tu dah ganas dah, tapi bagi low-kick 2-3 kali, upper-cut sikit, mati dah..Challenge tetap challenge tapi senang settle. The key here is 'lower down your expectations'. Takpayah lah nak mengharap sangat to your fantasy holidays tu. Stick to the objectives sudah. Contohnya, saya nak holiday bersama keluarga, objective untuk spend more time playing with my boys. Stick to that. Tak payah nak fikir apsal bilik hotel ni macam sial or service restaurant ni macam hampeh, barang mahal tak boleh nak beli souvenir..
So i told Izza, my ideal holiday is lepak at home, with family and do all the stuff i love. Cukuplah hari-hari keluar rumah pagi balik malam. Aku nak chill kat rumah layan family.

RIP Marco Simoncelli

What a loss to MOTOGP..no one could survive such accident..

Wouldn't want to be in Colin's nor in Rossi's shoe right now.. sorry guys..keep it strong..

Italian motorcyclist Marco Simoncelli has been tragically killed in a crash during today's Malaysian Moto GP, race organisers have confirmed.

The Gresini Honda rider lost control of his bike on the second lap of the circuit in Sepang and appeared to be hit by Colin Edwards and then Valentino Rossi as he slid across the track.

The fatal incident comes just a week after British IndyCar racing driver Dan Wheldon died after crashing in Las Vegas

The 24-year-old's helmet came off in the collision and he was taken to the medical centre for treatment, but his injuries were too serious.

A message on the MotoGP website read: 'Marco Simoncelli succumbed to injuries sustained in Malaysia.'

Newly-crowned champion Casey Stoner admitted watching the accident made him worried for Simoncelli, who was later pronounced dead.

'As soon as I saw the footage it just makes you sick inside,' the Australian told BBC2.

'Whenever the helmet comes off that's not a good sign.'

Tony Elias, Moto2 world champion, was praying the injuries to Simoncelli were not serious before learning the devastating news.

'We just hope Marco is OK - that's my wish,' he said.

Jasa Pak Lah

I have nothing but praise for our Immigration Department, JPN and EPF.. in particular, Sungai Petani’s. Service terbaik! I renewed my passport and issue Anas’s in less than 2 hours! Including waiting time! At JPN, while waiting for my number to be called, Umayr pulak menangis. Agaknya nampak macam aku tengah struggle nak menenangkan dia, officer tu terus panggil and attend to my application. Nak jadi cerita, ada problem pulak dengan application aku, he asked to me leave my number and he’ll call once the problem has solved. Aku tak mengharap sangatlah because banyak lagi ID application but hey, he called yesterday! Lastly EPF pulak, my education claim masuk in just 2 days!?!

I guess ada jugaklah jasa Pak Lah kepada negara.. WoOOoOoooooh!! (joke drum roll)

Anas is 8!

Anas, anas..

Anas's motor skills development seems to be more advanced. He sits straight with ease, mengesot and merangkak (including numbers of bed falls) and just few days ago dia berdiri on his own!

Menangis all the time (especially in the presence of the mom), he's into my organ's pedal and drums the keyboard and when he sees something he likes, ooh..he'll twist, bend..he'll do everything to get a hold of it!

Love you Anas bam bam.. salah satu nikmat dunia adalah memeluk Anas sekuat-kuatnya!..

Kisah Organ

Seingat aku, aku mula mengenali organ ketika umur 6 atau 7 tahun. Masih terngiang Ibu ku bertanya, “Adik nak belajar organ tak?” aku mengangguk setuju.

Kemudian setelah gred meningkat tinggi, Mr. Timothy Ng pula menjadi sifoo. Sifoo ini pula aku kategorikan di dalam kumpulan jejaka yuppy, sentiasa update pasal Italian fashion..dan mengajar aku (kononnya) the real pronouncation for Polo Ralph Lauren (which now i doubt it)..Skill? Sick! Jari dia macam terbang atas keyboard!

Level aku boleh tahan jugak tinggi masa ni. Test, competiom and shows..bolehlah dibanggakan. Namun, setelah Form 1, kami berpindah ke Damansara. Akibat beberapa permasalahan, aku berhenti belajar organ.

p/s: Alhamdulillah, HIT LIST no.2 tercapai!

1968 - Malay Guinness ad

Hahaha talk about jahiliah those days! Received this from Mud via email this morning.

Original message:
How it was in 1968 , Guinness ad in Malay, with Malay actors

Someone found this in the library at OhioUniversity. It is in a program booklet of KGMMB’s (Kesatuan Guru-Guru Melayu Malaysia Barat) AGM 1968, and this advertisement appeared on p.2, side by side with the message from the then Deputy Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein. How different it was in those days.

Update:
Thanks Belle.. found this, 1970 Guinness Stout tv ad from youtube. Although the ad is in Bahasa and penyanyi dia eerily sengau, i find it interesting that they portray a group of indian-looking models drinking stout in a restaurant after work. ia sungguh jujur. It's like educating those yang lepak kedai samsu in the dark..plus, nowadays tak banyak iklan showing normal-looking indians. refreshing..

oh and the "baik untuk anda" catch phrase..still ringing..damn

*Chorus
Guinness Stout, baik untuk anda, baik untuk anda

Selepas bekerja kuat seharian, tibalah masanya untuk minum Guinness Stout
Untuk mengembalikan tenaga yang hilang
Untuk menikmati kepadatan rasa dari Guinness Stout

Repeat *
