A letter to Por Por

Dear Por Por,

I was only 14 years old and stupid when I first met you. That time it was hard for me to accept that I have a Granma after so many years without one. It was difficult; awkward especially because it was a funeral that brought us to meet. But as years goes by, I have slowly progressed to accept you into my life. I find you sweet, practical, strong personality, strong character and loads of sense of humor. It is so incredible how you were still able to smile and joke around with us although in the inside you were suffering from the multiple cancers.

Thank you Por Por for all the sacrifices you’ve made, the tears, the patience and all the sweat and blood for the family. There is nothing on this universe that can ever repay you.

Thank you for the sweet memories.

Xin NIan Kuai Le!

Last night we had our 'makan besar' at KLGCC. Family present were of course Uncle Bill and family (except for John-in conventry), Por Por and Uncle Stanley and family. The food were great!!We had Yee Sang, Shark Fins soup, Crispy Roasted Chicken, Snow Fish, Wan Tan noodle, Prawn soup, Mushroom and Taufoo in oyster sauce and desserts

This is what i found out last night.

What is the difference between kong hei fatt choi (khfc), Gong Xi Fa Cai (gxfc) and Xin Nian Kuai Le (xnkl)?

1. KHFC and GXFC is the same only that one in cantonese and gxfc in mandarin
2. XNKL = Happy Chinese New Year..where else KHFC and GXFC = "wishing you enlarge your wealth" (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gong+Xi+Fa+Chai&defid=441970)

3. The best wish would be (in order) :

Gong Xi Fa Xai - wishing you enlarge your wealth
Xin Nian Kuai Le - Happy Chinese New Year
Wan Shi Ru Yi - may everything works out as you wished

Another reunion high tea on the way
Another stomach full for the day! hehe

Gong Xi Fa Xai , Xin Nian Kuai Le ,Wan Shi Ru Yi !
